Elle Reveals Men Think Anorexia is Actually Sexy

jessicagoldharalson:

Via Jezebel.com and Elle.

I think two things are going on in this article:

1) The “men” who find anorexia sexy in the article are New York literati, and in New York, isn’t it true that thin = status and chic?

2) To paraphrase Bill Maher, if you give men Twiggy they want Twiggy. Perhaps there are a lot of men who really do prefer the incredibly thin female form, but have been trained to say “curves are better” because it is PC.

What do you think, ladies and gentlemen? I’d love to hear what the straight-guy Tumblrs have to see about this topic… I will say that I got more male attention during my bulimia days, but did that have to do with weight or with predatory guys wanting to take advantage of vulnerability?

And on an unrelated note, maybe I should take my curvy ass to the gym before I move to Nueva York?

I was going to comment on this entry, but then I saw the entry This Is What A Gorgeous Man Looks Like and had to think of the scene in Fight Club where Tyler Durden and The Narrator get on the Bus and The Narrator comments on a Calvin Klein ad ‘Is this what men are supposed to look like ’ (Similar comment, don’t have the movie here to check the exact wording or even to upload the scene to YouTube).

As for the question… skinny can be stylish, but I thought men liked a healthy butt. Well I at least do.
