A weird query for Tumblr:
- I’m going to do job interviews in NYC pretty soon.
- I have nowhere to stay (except for a few of those days, and I don’t want to wear out my welcome with said friend).
- If you are not an axe murderer or some creepy pedo-person, could I stay with you?
- It would be super fun and I am not a bad guest and I don’t smell and I’d totally take you to dinner. Also you wouldn’t need to show me any cheesy shit, I just need somewhere to stay for a job interview, not like a tour of Central Park or something (unless you want to.)

Regarding the whole Tumblettes thing:
The truth is I just want a list called Tumbldcks.
The only disturbing thing… darn, franGRy, franKy, too darn close. Still, can I apply to be a tumbldck? I’ll do my best to behave as a dck.
Does anyone else find this a little demeaning/condescending in an ‘aw cute, women have thoughts too’ kind of way? And that from what I could tell 2 of the 24 staff picks were women? Or am I just being overly sensitive again and it’s actually good that they are recognizing women tumlrs? At least they didn’t make it pink.

While nobody would argue that things have not changed radically, there are plenty of dubious traditions that remain prevalent - stag dos with strippers; the bride being “given away”; the speeches being made by men; the woman giving up her name.
For whom the bells toll (via gauntlet)I think the woman keeping her name first in a double name is the way to go. She can decide to stick to her name when things go wrong, or not. Never ever should she give up her maiden’s name.
